Rubicon is a leading provider of full-service construction management services. Our broad portfolio includes consulting, engineering, and construction management offerings to help customers build and upgrade their mission-critical facilities. Unlike typical general contractors, our staff of professional engineers provides customers including Telx Group, Internap, Adhost and Morgan Stanley with unique alternatives for mission critical and green construction. Additionally, our entire staff is OSHA certified. We will continue to extend our thought leadership with a range of new programs in the coming months as we recently launched our “Dinner with Rubicon” national tour. Our first tour stop was held at New York’s SPARKS Restaurant in March, followed by a second event at Chicago’s Gibsons. These informal events included focused discussions and spirited debates with business, real estate, institutional and financial entities on the current (and future) best practices for data center design, construction and energy management. Attendees included representatives from Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, NYSEDRA, Deutsche Bank, Centerpoint Properties, McGuire Engineers, Environmental Systems Design, the University of Chicago, IronGate Solutions, Mesirow Financial, and Argonne National Labs. These dinners – along with other upcoming programs – are aimed at helping customers stay abreast of the latest in Mission Critical Design, Construction and Energy Management in an effort to solve their most difficult challenges. Moving forward, you can expect Rubicon to roll-out more events to take this knowledge even further. Customer Spotlight Internap Leading provider of a range of intelligent IT Infrastructure solutions, including colocation, managed hosting, cloud, CDN and enterprise IP connectivity, Internap Network Services Corporation used Rubicon’s services for its Boston data center expansion. Internap leveraged Rubicon’s Design and Build Construction Services to rapidly construct an approximately 7,000 net sellable square-foot expansion of its existing Boston data center. Service Spotlight
The second contract awarded to our Technical Services division involves Quality Assurance/Quality Control inspections of a data center development project in northern New Jersey for a major New York-based financial services firm. This firm is developing a $250MM+ Tier 4 data center. Rubicon will be inspecting the electrical system for specification and reliability compliance to ensure the finished product is successfully tested and commissioned for the client. To ensure unbiased assessment, Rubicon will be reporting directly to the owner in this QA/QC role. Rubicon Technical Services continues to build its professional experts base, continually adding to our team highly qualified engineers practicing in the data center arena. |

Welcome to the inaugural issue of RubiconPERSPECTIVE. This newsletter is dedicated to bringing you the very latest on Rubicon Professional Services and the most recent developments impacting the mission critical data center construction and energy marketplace.
In March of this year, we launched the first in a series of national power dinner events at New York City’s Sparks restaurant. The event brought together Rubicon executives and high ranking officials from leading organizations including Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, Citi Group, NYSERDA, and Deutsche Bank. The informal and informative discussions focused on current trends and challenges in mission- critical facility design and energy management. Our second dinner was held at Chicago’s Gibsons Restaurant and included executives from such organizations as Centerpoint Properties, McGuire Engineers, Environmental Systems Design, University of Chicago, Mesirow Financial, Argonne National Lab.
Rubicon’s Technical Services Division has been awarded two contracts for technical consultancy services. One contract provides engineering and design support to the nation’s largest data center developer where we are supporting the development of space at two of their San Francisco locations to reach 100% occupancy for space that does not meet their traditional turnkey data center standards. This contract will encompass engineering and design support to all their facilities nationwide and targeting spaces falling outside of their ‘cookie-cutter’ design standards. This affords Rubicon the opportunity to apply our well-healed design prowess for making hard-to-build spaces revenue generating opportunities with prudent, measured capital.
